Report on Weekend Walking
Last Friday and Saturday Citizens SOS hit the streets of Akron talking to voters and dropping off literature. More than 12,000 pieces of literature were circulated spelling out the truth about Issue 8 (forcing those who receive funds to stay in Akron for 30 years or else pay back the money) and Issue 9 (let voters decide all future plans to sell or lease ANY public utility). The reception was outstanding.
Anyone willing to walk anytime over the next several weeks is encouraged. We have walking lists, maps, and literature. Contact Jack at AFSCME at 330-784-3690.
Report on Phone Calling
In two days, we’ve made nearly 2000 calls...again letting people know the truth about Issues 8 and 9. Thanks to all those who’ve helped so far. The reception has been excellent but we have to continue to get the word out. We’re calling every night this week (shifts starting at 4 pm and 6:30 pm) and Saturday (starting at 10 am). Our goal is 5000 calls by the weekend. If you can help one or more shifts for one or more nights, contact Mary at mac40oh@aol.com
